With the upcoming changes to LTA funding and Wimbledon wildcards, players will be increasingly dependent on the money that they can earn from WTA/ITF prizemoney in 2015. Here then is a list of what the GB girls earned from this in 2014...

National   WTA    Name                      Total              of which Wimbledon

A World Cup squad's worth. This might not be entirely accurate. It is based on the published WTA prize money rankings as of 29/12/14, and my own sums, for which I had to remove my socks.

Interesting.

Naomi and Tara really kicked on last year after their Wimbledon money - NOT.

I do, like many, think the LTA's seeming 'tough love' is OTT or at least maybe too simplistic, but that evidence doesn't help ...
