Katy really in a battle, and up against it for much of the match, but has managed to scramble in to a TB in the third set. 7-6(7) 2-6 6-6

Just not really happening for Katy at the moment. She did well to scrap around to make the score as close as it was today; lots of coming from behind in games.
From 4 consecutive $15K, the trip down under has yielded 1 SF, but 3 times out in the first two rounds, despite being seeded in all (the doubles has been very flat too).

Ms. Boulter has been similarly flat. Doubles is later, and Katie plays tomorrow. Last chances to add some gloss.

Hard to know quite what's out of synch for them, maybe a long first season in the full transition to seniors. Here's hoping they find that missing mojo soon enough.

R1: Katy DUNNE (GBR) [5] 313 lost to Pei-Che LEE (TPE) 486 7-6(7) 2-6 6-7(4)

On top, but not getting any cheap change ( ) out of the Thai pair, our girls take the first set, 6-4

Always thought this was very weird scheduling given the notoriously weak 25ks in Oz are now on and then followed by two similarly weak 50ks in Bendigo.

Been a bit of a strange few weeks for the pair. Katy did have injury troubles over the summer so maybe now quite back into the groove yet. I'm sure both will get back to their best soon enough

Yes, does seem a bit strange and Thailand is nothing like a midway stop off if wanting to get back to the UK for next week ( still a very long journey from Thailand and arguably better to stay in Oz anyway for a few more weeks ).

They may have changed their schedule as Katy withdrew in the first week and results haven't really done much since. They were multiple entered.

I wouldn't worry too much about Katy, just coming back from injury, playing in tough conditions in Phuket, decent effort to get to the semis the other week.

I always think that when you play in hot humid conditions which for the most part won't suit a British player against Asian players who aren't impacted its always going to be tough. If this match had been played back home, I've no doubt the result would have been easily reversed.

Hi

I didnt know where to post this,
I have been reading this forum for several months now but am yet to contribute.
I have started to write a few articles on british tennis for the website givemesport

here is a link to one of them:
www.givemesport.com/516147-five-british-male-tennis-talents

I will also be doing a regular weekly column detailing where different brits are playing that week, so look out for that on the tennis section.

Any feedback would be great!

Thanks

Welcome.

I don't speak for the board or the moderator/owners, but I think anywhere in a new thread in the mens ( ) section would be fine .

Be warned though, some board members might take you gently to task about your opinion statements on some players!

Luckily, I don't watch, or keep up, with the GB men as much as I should, so you're safe... for now.
