Or, more formally:

[1] Isaline Bonaventure (BEL) and Nicola Slater CR 516 ( 220 + 296) v Elena Bovina and Valeria Savinykh (RUS/RUS) (UNR + 213)

[2] Anamika Bhargava (USA) and Emily Webley-Smith CR 542 (299 +243 ) v Sonja Molnar (CAN) and Caitlin Whoriskey (USA) CR 716 (328 + 388)

Bovina's career high in doubles was 14.

Em gets Nadja Gilchrist, another college standout who graduated a couple of years ago. Most definitely dangerous (and the bookies agree, making Gilchrist clear favourite), certainly more so than Gradjek would have been, or the two Canadian teenagers. But can't complain too much to get that draw in a 50k.

Second on after 10 local time.

Nik and Em also both in doubles action.

Having been so clinical when opportunities presented themselves, Em misses 15-40, but she gets advantage and strikes

*4-2

A double fault gives Em 15-30, saves game point. Double fault gives her match point. Saved. Double fault again for match point #2...

Em wins 61 62

Wow. Did not expect her to win that comfortably. Very, very, very chuffed with that.
