Btw, the ATP Challenger page says this tournament is on clay but the ITF site says it's on hard - similarly Mansfield last week. I'm sure the ITF site is correct in this case.

Alex got to 5-0 and then Theo woke up and got it back to 5-4. But Alex held and won the first set 6-4.

 

Not unsurprisingly, the second set is proving more tricky. Alex an immediate break down.

That's a super result ! His first point - and with a victory against WR 595 . . . There's also no seed in his part as there's a LL instead, who lost in a close match to the young Japanese player, who is a top 10 junior, but will be an interesting match ::))
