Development List for britishtennis.net

If there's only one AM - specific section, then it should probably be renamed "Andy Murray"

Suggested Mods - assuming they're interested, and all other things being equal: Sheddie, Rob, Drew, GC77, Seagull, Steven, and whoever takes on the Womens role. Arka for Juniors?

If I am going to post entry lists I would need to be a mod for that section (assuming it doesn't just carry over from the Andy's ranking section where I am a mod anyway)

Oops yes: Mad & Bethan of course ashamed.gif

- now then the big questuion is do we put the entry list for Estoril in here, and then duplicate it for the Estoril thread in the Andy section?  Or do we have the discussion of the tournament in here, but not the matches? Or do we just have a summary here of the brits in action that week?

I would suggest that either:
general discussion of the tournament goes in with the entry list, but individual matches have their own threads wherever they are best suited.

or:
the entry lists are left as pure entry lists, updated for withdrawals etc., and all discussion goes in the appropriate section

I'm not sure which would be better - what does everybody else think?

I think the latter would be less confusing. If whoever is posting the entry list also starts a tournament thread in the relevant section that would work I think. That way if you want to see an entry list you know exactly where to go and the entry list section doesn't get cluttered with tournament discussion.

Read through from Davids post....

Very willing to be a mod in the 'entry list section'...if that is the way to go...but

I like the MTF format of Current events, Upcoming events and previous events.

I also like the way that ATPs, Challengers and Futures are seperated.

That maybe just too much for here ? So....I would do...for example...

Brits in ATPs  >

 ATP Queens >

  * entry lists
  * main draw singles
  * main draw doubles
  R1 : Boggo v Federer LIVESCORE
  R2 : Boggo v .....etc

etc....etc... the main threads* would be sticky only

Brits in Challengers >

as above...

Brits in Futures >

as above...

So this gives the clear seperation I like but doesnt need the current/upcoming/previous further separation that mtf do.

Comments !

One section description has a full stop at the end while all the others don't. Something has to be done. cry.gif

Having the new section also a discussion place for that limited no of players seems a bit 'selective'....could it be 'Andy Murray and the Top 5' that would mean whoever was ranked 2-5 would be included without a change to the thread name ?

I thought it was just dicussion of their rankings in that bit. Though why Tim isn't there is beyond me, maybe Sheddie doesn't think he deserves a mention cry.gif (wink.gif)
