Poor backhand into net from KS 0-15, terrible volley into net after good play 0-30, KS f pass winner 15-30, KS smash winner 30-30, df 30-40, LJ b cc ue wide after rally 40-40, KS f winner after 1st A-, good play from LJ finishing with volley winner 40-40, KS b cc ue wide 40-A, unret 1st 40-40, KS f wide after 1st 40-A, LJ b cc winner for the break 1-1

KS f winner after 1st, this time KS executes the volley perfectly after aggressive play 30-0, Swan f winner 40-0, LJ b return must have just caught the edge of the line 40-15, ace out wide on 2nd serve 3-1*

LJ poor b error net 0-15, LJ b error long after rally 0-30, KS reaches LJ drop shot then hits f winner at an acute angle 0-40, LJ volley 15-40, brilliant b pass winner from KS from a defensive position deep behind the baseline *4-1

KS f winner 0-15, delightful drop shot winner from Leolia 15-15, unret 1st 30-15, LJ wild f long after 2nd 30-30, df 30-40, Katie doesn't do enough with her return of a 2nd, allowing Leolia to volley a winner 40-40, df 40-A, LJ takes on b dtl but misses by miles for the break *5-2

---

Conditions seem very slow. Plenty of extended rallies, both players able to stay in rallies when defending deep. Holding serve has been difficult. Both players have won plenty of points at the net. Katie with several impressive passing shots.

--

KS good play finishing with f winner 0-15, poor b after 1st 0-30, LJ wins net exchange 15-30, poor KS f error net 30-30, Leolia awful f dtl error wide, df for the break *1-0

unret 1st 15-0, KS f winner after deep return 15-15, super f return winner off a 2nd 15-30, good v from Leolia 30-30, Katie defends then strikes f pass winner 30-40, LJ amazing b winner after decent Swan return off a 2nd 40-40, rubbish LJ b error net after 1st 40-A, deep return from Katie, Leolia's backhand lands long for the break *4-1

poor b error net from LJ 15-0 rubbish f error net from KS 15-15, df 15-30, unret 30-30, nice angled v winner from KS 40-30, ace 5-1*

KS b return winner off a 2nd 0-15, LJ drop shot, KS reaches it but her f is wide 15-15, ace 30-15, awful b error net after 1st 30-30, df 30-40, stream vanished so I guess it's over 6-1

--

Good performance overall from Katie, assisted by Leolia's surprising lack of confidence when serving. Quite a lot of Swan winners given the slow playing conditions.

Wow that was very straightforward but yes the courts look painfully slow.

I looked when the match started and Katie was a slight favourite with Bet365. But then all four Brits were very close one way or the other.

I did notice that Harriet and Dolehide were both being quoted at 10/11 which tempted me in for a wee wager on Harriet.

Now that I've pitched in for Harriet, bet365 has eased her out slightly lol. Dolehide 8/11, Harriet evens

A repeat of last year's heroics is looking rather unlikely as Harriet drops serve and trails 0*-2 in the second.....
