 I'm sorry if you find that aggressive. Genuinely. It doesn't seem so to me. It seems like engaging in a discussion. It seems to me that you just don't like it when people have a different opinion. And like making unsubstantiated claims. Equally genuinely. No, I don't post on TF, if that helps smile But I'll let it drop. No problem. 

Yes apologies from me, I had an interrupted days travel from Edinburgh to Manchester this morning and was in a defensive state of mind it seems. It was your post that started oh please.. that set me off. And like yourself and others have said, Im noticing these things more with the British women as I follow them closely unlike other countries so I accept that. And Katie S did well to qualifly, I just hope she can stay healthy.

The above post has left me unsure where the discussion of this year's Indian Wells starts.

I can't find anywhere else so I must assume here.

I just wanted to say that the match that is holding up Emma's appearance on court is a fascinating study in why I love tennis so much. Danielle Collins went 5-2 up in set one and looked like she was cruising to the first set but then the momentum shifted and her opponent Dalma Gálfi broke back. Collins made it through the first set 6-4 after a tremendous struggle to close out the set but now Galfi is leading 4-2 in the second.

This is why tennis is the ultimate spontaneous sport and something I can never watch in replay after I know the result. It's the being on the edge, never knowing what might happen next no matter what the ranking or history of the players, there's something so compelling and in the moment about it.

And leaving aside the question of whether our women are particulalry mentally fragile, I'm completely with you that we've had a couple of disappointing near-miss matches recently. And we haven't really had any major positives to balance it out. So, as PaulM says too, it feels rather sad in the women's camp at the moment - Hev doing better is hardly great news when she's still miles off her best, Harriet is having a 'mare, Jodie just back, and the two Katies are doing OK, but we all feel they could do so much better, with health and a prevailing wind...

And Lord knows where we are with Emma.....

(Maybe Eden and Sonay will lauch a surprise attack )

 You may have your players the wrong way round. WTA website shows Galfi winning the first set 6-4, with Collins now serving at 4-4

 It was Galfi who won the 1st set 6-4. 4 all in the 2nd set at the moment.

Galfi was 5-2 up in the first set and then Collins pegged her back to 5-4 before Galfi served it out??? Collins was also in tears in the first set so something is definit going on with her unfortunately

Emma romps the first set after initial hiccup but the commentary keep putting it down to her opponents injury so nobody is allowed to get too excited.

Emma broken at the start of the second set. It's exactly like one of those unpredictable tennis matches that make me love the sport so much, but I don't want this, not in this match: I want a boring match where Emma cruises to victory!
