2023 Women's Predictions Competition

For the women we are overall even more optimistic as to the top 10 rise in 2023 than we were for 2022.

Actually for 2022 our overall average optimism was not particularly misplaced. I make it that we averaged +150 last year which wasn't very much more than the actual top 10 rise of 139 from 1908 at 27/12/21 to 1769 at 28/11/22.

As on the men's, I think you should put up your list anyway, Tenpar. It's always interesting to see as many people's views as possible
And if you reckon you're doing well on some, you can claim some credit, even if not it properly. And if your predictions are dire, you can forget about it and no one will know...

CD, haven't done any lists now/yet. Flying across the pond for a couple weeks of lovely sun (I hope) today so I'll see what I can do on a rainy day maybe..

I set the deadline of the 28th to give me time over the break to process the results before the tournaments started downunder. I've no problem with adding a few more entries over the next few days, although they won't appear in the tables until the next update after the AO.

Tennpar - even if you spend ages working out the possibilities the chances are that you stand just as much chance by making a list in ten minutes as thee are so many unpredictable elements. So just go for it.

I literally spent 2 minutes last year throwing a list together because I had forgotten the predictions competition even existed.  I didn't come bottom either (barely) it's just a bit of fun.

ETA You've got a long flight to entertain yourself, perfect opportunity to put some thought into it

Looks as if you've taken over as the most optimistic this year.

The leader in TA's table was +596 for the top 10 rankings.

Your top 10 total is 1142 conpared to the starting top 10 rankings of 1778. So +636.

6 in the top 100 would be superb.

Yes I think when I do these lists its thinking what is the best possible outcome for each player rather than what my mind in reality is telling me. I cant see Heather getting that high or Sonay either in honesty but its nice to aim that high.

I think your Heather and Sonay predictions are well possible

Not sure about Anna though (runs and hides biggrin)

Were the late entries for the competition accepted or did they come too late and have been ruled out?
