Qualifying has just begun for the second tournament being held at the Curro club, this time a Grade 1 event.  Phoenix Weir, Freddy Blaydes, Ella McDonald and Hephzibah Oluwadare should be in the main draw on Tuesday.  Zach Stephens, Henry Jefferson , Millie Skelton, Ellie Blackford, Marelle Raath and Imogen Haddad are in qualifying, which is being streamed here for anyone interested.  Millie is currently on court 3 with others coming up later (see the oop here)

Great to see 3 GB girls in the quarters of a J1, Hephzibah playing the Estonian she beat in round 2 last week. Ella and Ellie also in the QF of the doubles with their respective partners. With all entered into the JA the following week this looks like a very positive trip for the girls.

As Hep has a 36 counter to be dropped, the 140 points here give her a net +104 which - I make - will get her up to about JWR 107
And make her the 6th best 2007-er in the world

Cracking week for Hep again.

Ellie has won the first set 7-6 and was 5-4 up and had a few match points I think. Shes 6-5 up now. Shes a fiery character thats for sure.
