Katie has had long periods due to illness and injury where she has not been able to work on her core fitness. And I so wish that this will change for her as much work is needed.

I agree with CD re her being too thin. In fact I would say that she is ridiculously thin for a past and hopefully again top 100 player.

I recall a BBC interview with her after an injury break (possibly the big one recently?) where she talked about working on strength and endurance during her time off, so hopefully shes aware its causing her issues. its a shame, I know these are mostly easy matches for her but playing repeatedly over a couple of weeks would be exactly whats needed to build this fitness back up again.

Is that it then all the Brits are out of this tournament?
This is becoming a familiar theme.

3 out of 4 lost their R1 matches but Emilie LG did win.

So she's still going, as are Fran, Katy D, Mandy and Emily App in other women's ITFs.

Sorry I had no idea as I did not recognise the name. What is this girls background? Where is she from? Where does she train? Where does she live?

Found this on ELG - also JB.

"We are very proud of the achievements our pupils, past, and present, have made. Current pupils, Henry, Lucy, Rosa, and Arthur have all got call backs for Surrey County level with Hayden achieving regional and county levels. Old Amesburians Jodie Burrage is currently world ranked WTA 233 and Emily Lindh Gallagher is ITF ranked 190. Dan Cochrane is an Ex ATP player and Resident Head Tennis Professional in America working with John McEnroe.."

Unlucky with the second set, she only lost 6 points on serve, and that was the single break.

Made up for it in the third set though, 6-1

She served 12 aces and only one double fault today so very good serving indeed.
