2020 Ranking Predictions - Male

Oops, tx Michael, forgot the Aussie connection.

Glad to hear all's well, Constant.

And glad you stuck down you picks.

Of course, like playing the lottery, you do know that one time you miss the deadline is the only time your numbers come up ????

Now that the Australian swing is over, it seems to be a convenient moment for an update - and before the US spring hardcourt season.

A few changes in the points, partly due to Evo and Dino climbing the rankings, but also due to the close rankings of the group of players between #7 and #12.

I'll post a link to the full tables later

Thanks Addict.

Does it say something about my level of confidence, that whenever I start searching these lists for my name, I start at the bottom and work up ? It always seems quicker that way to find myself in the list.

Very true - you were one of the most optimistic in your predictions !

Go hard or go home. It was only Anton that was my outlier still backing him to break top 200 by December, another Harriet in the making that one although he let me down this week.

I saw Anton play last summer - had to check on his ranking afterwards, thought he was excellent.

I actually based myy prediction on what he has achieved outside of tennis. You don't do 3 academic A levels, get to grade 8 in a musical instrument and compete at a exceptionally high level in Junior tennis unless you have a ridiculous amount of drive and that's true regardlessof what background you come from.

Yes, the tables for now are still very much based on where the players' rankings are coming from against where folk predict they will go to. And may they go to good places!

I've always thought we should have a 'Pollyanna' prize for the most optimistic predictor! cry

And an 'Eeyore' prize for the most miserable one

and realistically, we dont get a true picture until the summer part of the season and Wimbledon , which go a long way to determining some of our players rankings.

Well Oakland pips BornToWin for the most optimistic (emmsie is only 5th). Miriambee is a clear leader in the most pessimistic states - with - you guessed - CD second !

(Based on overall forecast percentage gains for the ten picks)
