On the cards. Watching Novak at Ilkley yesterday, I did recall Paul had beaten him in 2 7-5 sets the other week and it felt like a realistic current level of around 150 in the world would be good as a baseline for Paul.

So several players in action today at Eastbourne main draw - Dan, Cam, James and Jay from the men and Jo from the ladies. Time someone started eating into Dan's lead!

So a decent-ish day today down in Eastbourne and 3 wins, Dan, Joko and Cam.

The latest table is now: 38 wns in total (22 mens, 16 womens) and Dan extends his lead at the top. Jo however is now up into equal second. With Dan being more than 7 wins ahead it basically needs someone to close that gap on him below 7 in order for this race to be alive going into Wimbledon. A certain lady with operatic tendencies is warming up and getting ready to sing!

Looking at this more closely, only Jo, Cam and Kyle now have any chance of catching Dan

Jo - can win 4 more in Eastbourne and 7 Wimbledon so can get to 14 wins

Cam - can get 4 more Eastbourne and 7 Wimbledon so can reach 12. Basically he needs to win this week and his first slam!

Kyle - can get 4 more Eastbourne and 7 Wimbledon and reach 11. So ditto Cam and still only draw even with Dan.

Dan needs just 4 wins over the remaining weeks to take the title, but unlikely he will need to do that. I think the bookies are paying out already!

The record by the way in recent years is Jo Konta with 13 wins in 2017, so Dan is in search of beating that total, 3 more wins

And so Dans win today and losses by Jo and Cam means Dan will top the table and only Kyle can equal him. Head to head tomorrow and win for Dan will seal the deal with plenty of room to spare! 40 wins now (24 men, 16 women) and 1 more guaranteed tomorrow

In fact I'm wrong ! Dan is the winner as Kyle has 1 win, can get 3 more here and 7 at wimbledon to make 11.

At the end of eastbourne week last year gb had 42 wins, so 40 this year with 1 plus to come is comparable. Year before was 40 before a stonking wimbledon. So as a year its par with recent years, but with dan the glue

Stat! Ytd prize money has cam and kyle at 467k and 466k . Dan has won 311k.

Time to focus on the main tour, dan.

Hats off to sam murray and James ward. If we added their qualies wins in to their total they'd have 7 and 6 wins in total respectively, clearly our 2nd and 3rd best performers and worth a shout out.

Yes Sam has definitely been the best female performer todate. Unexpected and therefore really wonderful to see.. Perhaps she should try getting married more often?
