Week 37 - WTA International ($250K) - Quebec, Canada - Indoor Carpet

Heather will go back to GB #2 ahead of Katie B ( 608 points now to 594 ).

And possibly within another win of being back in the top 100.

The comined serving of Naomi & Kristyna must be some formidable prospect to face on the lightning quick Quebec courts, but they're not doing very well, 3-6 1-2*

They did eventually win, but interestingly not a serve is registered on the stats by either pairing, and I would have put money on at least one pair of serve bots clocking up a few.

Hasn't Quebec been quite a happy venue for brits in the past?

I seem to remember Fernandez being the young Canadian WC that gave Katie B a bit of a scare in Toronto.

Yes, she lost to Katie B in Montreal in the QR2 in 3 sets. Her 6-3 7-5 win here over Dabrowski, who is one of the women's top doubles players, was a good one too. Her live ranking of 456 for a 16yr old also suggests she is a very talented player, as does her JCH 13. She has not actually played many tournaments (she has just 6 counters), but those she has have been mostly 60k and above. This will not be an easy match for Heather.

Not sure on that one, maybe. I do think that Canada in general has been pretty good for Brits over recent years.
