Amazon Prime

How many people here going to subscribe to this for the US Open?

I will but if picture quality no good (streaming not very good for sports with lots of movement) I will cancel.

Anyone already got it - thoughts?

I have thought about it. You get a free 30 day trial so maybe worth a go.

Looking at the Amazon website, it doesn't seem to say whether it's going to be in Standard, High or Ultra High definition though.

I already subscribe to Netflix so probably would cancel Amazon Prime after the free period as I can't really justify yet another monthly subscription for something I won't watch that often.

Not me, I'm watching it via other means when I can i.e. UK evening matches.

I think it's ridiculous how you need a multitude of different "packages" to watch one sport (because I don't watch any other).

I've no idea what's going on with Amazon. I watched some of Queens on it, or perhaps Eastbourne, but now the Masters series are back on Sky. Did Amazon just buy rights to certain events? I thought they bought rights to everything bar the grand slams. But reading this thread it seems they have US Open rights. Bad for me since I have sky but very slow broadband.

Amazon have rights to ATP World Tour from next year. This year they only have rights to Queens and Eastbourne as well as the US Open

I am on the 30-day trial, since I just bought a few things and saved more than a months membership on delivery charges. I'll see how it goes with the USO before making a decision. But I wish it had stayed with Sky, so much easier to access.

Thanks RedSquirrel that helps me understand! Ah but this is a rubbish news for people like me living in the sticks with <1meg broadband. I can't even stream standard definition on my tv, without waiting for hours for it to download, therefore I love Sky. Still no eta on fibre broadband in my village boooo..

Seems odd their choice of events.
You have very little tennis and two lots of premier league football.
If you want to watch it, just take the free trial, but remember to cancel it.

Impressed so far with picture quality and the fact they are showing all the Brits.

Hope they might have sorted out the frame rate issues to improve live play

Hmm, I can get the tennis build-up on my laptop, but it won't appear on my TV, although everything else I put on my watchlist is there and watchable.

It seems my three-year old Sony TV has Amazon Instant Video, not Amazon Prime Video. So the other stuff on my watchlist is viewable, but not the TV, and no easy way round it. I'm going to use my laptop for now, until I can figure it out.
