Great to see Dan playing so well.
The climb continues - almost WR 400, and up to GB #8
Wild card prospect ? wink

Live ranking at 438 now.  Another win would see Dan at approx 390.

Well 438 is almost 400 isn't it ?

Something was up with the page, it changed after I refreshed it. And not updated yet

Not wanting to get ahead of myself, with the field remaining, he could win this. Wimby MDWC for me after this win as he's proved that he's got a fair chance of winning a couple of matches if the draw is favourable - which is more odds than I'd give the rest of our WCs.

Didnt catch any of the match but thats a very good win against a player with grass court pedigree :)

At this rate he could end the grass court season at Challenger main draw level without having set foot on foreign soil or a Futures court. Not bad!

I agree Helen. Hes not only one of our better players, hes also in good form at the moment. In addition hes good to watch and if thats a consideration hed attract the crowds.

Yep, if there was a 'lucky' part of this whole episode, its that the timing of Dan's return coincided with two lesser spotted GB Challengers and then straight into the Grass court season, so he should (god willing) be able to skip Futures almost completely, and probably have a few weeks of having to qualify to get into US Hard court challengers before getting back onto Challenger MD circuit. Not by any means impossible that he'll get straight to Challenger MD level as greeny says.

Delighted that he got the win, Sergei's a tough opponent on this surface, so that's a very impressive result!

I'm guessing that Dan will have a day off tomorrow which I think will help him.  I don't think he'll be physically tired, but today was a tense match.

Folk are talking about WCs, but I think he should focus on an SE for next week. Can you imagine how hacked off he'd be if he had to race up to Ilkley on Friday night to play stupid challenger qualies?!

Yes I came off the fence today as well.

Watched the highlights there and Ill say it again, after Andy Dan is our most talented player and certainly most entertaining (Kyles game for me is hard to watch). There can be no doubt he will get a WC for Wimbledon now, its just a case of whether its a QWC OR MDWC. Hope he wins the tournament now and gives them no choice on that, but either way his ranking is creeping closer to the top 300 with every win.

Realistically if I were him Id be targeting the top 250 for August and therefore US Open qualies, and what a turnaround that would be when we all thought it would take him year to get a decent ranking back.

Dan will be exactly 115 at the end of the year (so in the top 250 by August with no problem)

And I know that because my oh-so-brilliant-ranking predictions say so ! hmm

Has anyone got a working stream for Alex W's match? My normal ones aren't working
