Definitely - as things stand though, Andy and maybe Kyle could gather a few wins in Eastbourne, although Kyle will be limited to 4 of course, and this may bring them up so we end up with maybe 3 or 4 players getting close to the top at the end of next week - Dan, Harriet , One of Kyle or Andy, maybe Jo Ko.

And for Wimbledon itself are you only going to count MD wins, Jon? I mean there are large points on offer in the Q draw... and well it would help defeat the AELTC strategy of anyone but Dan for the grass court most winners title. Oh, and I think the Britishtennis.net winner should definitely be announced through a large social media occasion - definitely Steven's twitter account at the least, but any other means would also be good. Of course, a little less significant if either Jo or Kyle, but definitely the case if either Dan or Harriet (for different reasons of course, Harriet's because she is still relatively unknown and unheralded despite what she has achieved this year). wink

yeah , it had crossed my mind Michael.. .but I guess I set the rules as main draw at the start so can't change them. Albeit that never stopped the Lta before!

And yes. A big announcement on twitter would be well deserved for the right winning player!

Actually the discussion elsewhere Re Anna Smith and playing British grass events, or not, made me think a) shoukd I compile doubles lists for completeness - yes I should- but also should I include wins achieved outside UK? So, should mallorca or Halle or even Newport ri count? Hasn't impacted singles but would on doubles?

Edit - will include British wins in non British events, we should celebrate our wins anywhere and also not let the Lta win with their prejudices. Will post something on doubles this evening.

Pps the Roehampton qualies results will of course count in the subsidiary qualifiers list for Good measure.

So in the main event, day 22, Harriet pulls away at the front of the pack, despite Dan winning in qualies. that is the rub! The list includes all those in events still at qualies level who could win matches ie still alive and kicking.

We hit 35 wins so far. A fair way now off last season's mid 50's total, but time to improve. And welcome to Andy Murray inn equal 7th place!

1 H. Dart 8
2 D. Evans 7
3 K. Boulter 4
4 J. Konta 4
5 J. Ward 2

The way Harriet seems to be playing, Dan might just have to win Wimbledon.

Its too early to write off Gabi!

Its true - anyone with at least one win could get to 8 wins or more - with the exception of Beth Grey - so anyones game. Just needs most of them to win or reach the semis of Wimbledon!

I think the race has narrowed to 3 maybe 4 now. Dan now has to win at least one Wimbledon MD draw match to catch Harriet, who of course could also win at least one round, with a favourable draw. Jo is really the only other person with a good chance of catching these two, but she likely needs a run this week - and with Caroline Wozniacki up next, that might not be so straightforward. Finally the two 1's that will play each other tomorrow, Kyle and Andy. Either has to reach at least the SF/ F here though, and then still reach the latter stages of Wimbledon too, so though its possible the odds are still really low. Win at least 2 more matches here, then maybe.. Otherwise this is really between Harriet, Dan and Jo now.

 OK. Maybe now it isn't.

I'll be interested to see what Gabi's schedule is post Wimbledon. She did really well on the Aussie swing, but hasn't quite stepped up at this higher level yet (Japan + the grass season), the way the others around her have. Needs to plot her route a bit more slowly probably, and there are still elements of her game to work on before she can challenge the top players as well as Harriet and Katie B have in recent weeks.

Well, Jo has won today, and Dan is getting smacked by Bachinger, love first set.

And a loss would take him out of the equation as he wouldnt be playing next week! Could start to make things interesting.

An updated set of tables will be produced later on tonight, Look out for them !

Katie B is on 4 wins and still to play her R1 (L16) match in Southsea.

Yes Katie is still there too. And sadly Dan is out of the running now - owing to all the non-counting qualifing wins he has too, including the pre-qualifiers disbeliefno

It's not yet impossible, but its going to be hard for a male player to win this now...

Ok, so here are the updated tables. I will start with the least important / exciting and build up to keep you all on the edge of your seats:

So qualies table first: Basically, only one player left, James Ward and he can only improve to 3 wins overall. So the winner is one of Brydan, Dan or Ed. Hard to determine if there is someone who deserves to be top? Brydan scored in 3 events , the others in 2. Dan however qualified for an event in Surbiton, the others failed to qualify. Dan won a match at Roehampton, the others, well they didnt get there.

My instinct is it is one of Dan or Brydan that would deserve it, and probably overall Dan...on the basis that qualifying events are about qualifying and , well , he did manage that once.

Happy to have it debated and overall don't really mind too much. Maybe a 3 way tie is what they all deserve!
