In terms of upsets ......

Billy to beat Dan in three

Such a shame that they have drawn each other in QR1, but when there are so many GB players in the draw, these things happen.

There was never a chance of that happening Bob to be fair. And ITF v ATP player. Almost a different sport at those levels.

If Billy had sneaked the TB, he would have been favourite for the 3rd IMO.  Dan is the better player, agreed, but his fitness levels are not there yet.

Good Win for Dan hopefully beat Sam Barry should they meet next round. The draw is weak again but three rounds as opposed to two in Glasgow where juniors were required to make up field of 16

So, despite my trying to wish doom on our Irish brethren, the three of them came through unscathed.

Well done to Alexis Canter, the only Brit to take out a pesky.

As JonH says, interesting main draw in that there's 8 points for with Dino or Lloyd.

Bambo gets a qualifier (please not Evo).

Alwx has Neuchrist and Ed has Ilkel

Probably good news considering the lack of success in Glasgow and there's also a 3/4 chance that any potential British qualifier will join them in that half. Bambridge due to face a Q in 1st round.

So, the bookies have Jack Draper, age 15, and UNR, as practically evens against Kern, top-400.

Again, I may well be wrong (was so last time) but that still seems ultra generous to young Jack.

I note the lack (again) of Ryan Storrie, I hope he's OK.

No Jonny Gray either?

Add: My 50p bet seems to have crashed the odds ! Robin now a clearer favourite and so better odds for Jack-fans smile

In terms of upsets, Tiran v Josh Paris has the potential to be one. I think Simon Carr is overranked at the moment too although he'd still be the favourite against Josh Rose. Pete Bothwell is very playable too. If Neil is on song he has a chance. I could also go for Luke J and that would clear out all three Irishmen ! Good luck to the others too.

I'm assuming this is the same Kern that Broady beat about 7 years ago on his Wimbledon juniors run? Good stuff.

Yes it is the same big-serving German.   Dan is currently on court 3*-4 with no breakpoints

Having said there were no breakpoints did the trick - Dan gets the first and converts for 5*-4

A love hold gives Dan the first set 6-4

6-4 6-1 was the score when they played in Glasgow. It's now 6-4 3-2 with a break here so Dan not quite as emphatic. I often think second events back can be tougher, as reality hits, don't have that same initial enthusiasm etc. No evidence on that thought!

Meanwhile canter is pushing Simon quite close, just lost first 7-5

Dan held on to that solitary break in set two, again serving out to love and winning 6-4 6-4

Dan plays either Tobias Simon or Alexis in the final qualifier, with the German currently leading 7-5 3*-3

I was intrigued until I looked up the draw and realized that you have probably been stung by auto correct on that one.

Marcus Willis and David Guez
