North West Counties promotion is pretty much decided.
Macclesfield won the premier with some huge gates many over 4000
Bury won the North - another very well supported club with gates over 1000
West Didsbury & Chorlton won the North - they are fast becoming the Dulwich of the North and getting very good crowds of 600+
South Manchester football seems to be booming( it used to be East Manchester) with WD&C, the two Wythenshawe teams all going well.
Play off matcges very soon - the other well supported club are IOM with gates around 1500
Lots of reorganisation at non league, so plenty of clubs that should be relegated getting reprieves and quite a few new clubs coming up from step 7 to step 6
AFC St Helens, Ashville, Stockport Gregorians seem likely to go up to step 6 subject to ground grading. One team per feeder league that finishes highest( in top 5) and applies
Wrexham have a huge following, Bromley is fairly local.
Automatic promotion across the league should almost certainly be settled by Easter Monday.
Stockport are running away with National League.
Brackley & Gateshead are neck and neck in the North
Maidstone have the upper hand in the south from Dorking.
NPL - Buxton lead South Shields
Isthmian - Worthing are almost up
Southern C - Banbury promoted
Southern S - 4 way fight.
I see the Derby Derby is getting some attention in the press.
For those not aware it is Buxton v Matlock. Well over 2000 at Matlock in the reverse fixture and Buxton are chasing the tile, Matlock the playoffs.
Over in the very strong Northern League - North Shields have claimed the title.
There are a few steps behind their counter parts in South Shields, but are well supported for their level - step 6, regularly getting 300-400
Yeah, it was looking decent for South Shields after they got an 89th minute winner on Saturday and Buxton conceded an 88th minute equaliser, and they had the tougher looking match on paper today, so I thought it might have been in South Shields' hands heading into the final day, but instead, it's like 99.99% over, baring something extraordinary.
Good to see the aforementioned North Shields opting to move up to the next level and they will join former recent Northern League sides Marske, Stockton, Shildon (although one of those 3 may well win the playoffs), Dunston and Hebburn in the Evo Stik league next season - good for their costs as well, the more regional sides in the league, rather than constant trips to the likes of Lincolnshire, but then I guess it's not so good for the more southern based sides, ha.
