It appears Freyas boyfriend has been battling cancer for last 2 years which would go a long way to explain the drop in performance in that time.

How very sad. So sorry to hear this. It would definitely contribute to why she's not progressing at the rate we were expecting. Hopefully he's responding to treatment. I wish them both well.

Good heavens yes. Well, that is wonderful news now for them both, so hope that it can act as a real boost for Freya going forward. Certainly puts tennis into perspective though.

Welcome back to the top-500 for Freya

19/09/22 WTA 480 (+53)

First time since 2019 - which itself was a rather brief flirt with the top-500 (about 12 months hovering just about inside from 2018-2019)

Let's hope we're back to 2016 days ....

And not forgetting also she's now at WTA 223 (+71) in dubs, following her title with Ali Collins at the W80+H

Freya (and Ali) are playing doubles and mixed doubles at the Brodies Tennis Invitational which starts on Thursday 28th September 2023
