He was showing on a the ITF entry list in Portugal for 2 weeks time before the withdrawal deadline 2 days ago. So maybe he is not far off making a comeback. Might see him on the UK Pro series or similar instead?

On Instagram he came up as a suggested person to follow. Anyhow I noticed a post from last month that said he'd just had a 3rd Knee Op.

It was announced at the beginning of this month that Evan was taking an indefinite break from tennis due to overcome injuries.

BBC reported Tennis Wales say 'Hoyt has no immediate plans to return to the proffessional tour once back to full fitness.' He does not rule out

returning to play doubles in the future.

Such a shame! He seemed to be on the upward trajectory a few years back, seems like a real great guy

What a shame. Saw him play doubles at Ilkley a few years ago and impressed by his movement and reach.

Had the pleasure of meeting Evan here in Spain when he was training and you are correct. He came across as really likeable.  His career was blighted by injuries and unfortunate financial issues (I am referring to him missing out on US college on a technicality) but he certainly had some talent.

Evan's Instagram describes him as an ex-player turned coach. So seems really following through on the no plans to return
