Murray vs. Soderling

Yey, I never get to start one of these threads but you snooze you lose. Literally.

Andy beat Fish 6-2 6-2 and Wang 6-4 6-2

Soderling beat Pavel 6-3 6-4 and Philippoussis 6-2 6-3

Neither player has lost a set in the tournament so far, something has got to give.

I didn't see an option to post a poll and I hate trying to predict Andy's matches. Apologies to those who enjoy the poll, you can always post your predictions below.

Murray and Soderling met in Bankok and Andy won a very tight match 7-6(3) 7-6(5). I don't know how the surfaces compare but Andy does have the advantage of not being jetlagged this time.

And Although Andy played well in bangkok he never really got going until ginepri in QF but right now he is playing fantastic with the performance of Ljubcic and thrasing Fish and Wang. Come on Andy we really need you to win this one.

Let's hope he hasn't peaked too soon!

The match is scheduled second after the Hewitt match, which is "not before 12.30" local time or 8.30 in the evening here. So Andy's match could start any time after 10pm or so.  Yay!  I can follow this one!

I think Andy will win in straight sets.It seems that Andy is quite composed although he was once 0-3 down in the first set against Wang.I wondered if Soderling's serve is as good as last time I watched him playing David Nalbandian at Master series when he won in staight.Soderling served really well that match and outplayed some points, given that Nalbandian is an excellent receiver

i think the reason why he was 3-0, imo, was that i think he was slow in working out wang's game.

Ok, I have worked out how to post a poll.

The options are pretty much the same as usual except this time they rhyme.

Really cannot see Andy losing this one. could win it in 2 but should be closer than the last 2 rounds.

Seems to be serving much better and mixing up agressive play with controlled play. Sounds easy.

If he does meet Roddick then he has a really good chance.

thanks for posting that info re. the semis being on Eurosport. I don't have the patience to check to TV listings on a regular basis, I'd much prefer to get that info here.  Is it worth starting a new thread, "Tennis on TV"  where contributors jot down the times and channels for interesting matches?    Knowledge of tennis in advance would help me negotiate my way out of watching some crap film or worse still Eastenders....

does it say live? Also, if murray does win and roddick goes through, they probably give him the 1st spot, so i think the time would be right for eurosport.

It says live, but you never know with them.
