The week 17 GB top 25 women's table is now available through the following week link on the week 16 table. We already have 19 GB women confirmed in main draws next week (15 of the top 25 plus the 4 Bournemouth WCs) and quite a few are chasing points in Asia and Africa.

In fact (although it's not certain because seeding and entry are not based on the same week's rankings), we could have four no. 1 seeds next week - Katie in the Johannesburg 100K+H event (weak for the same reasons as the recent men's Challenger was, so like Chris Eaton she has made a good tournament selection by going there), Elena at the Gifu 50K in Japan, Wobbly at the Balikpapan 25K in Indonesia and Naomi Broady closer to home at the 10K in Bournemouth.

Katie (and Naomi Cavaday, who is also in Jo'burg) may start on Monday, but most of the women's main draws don't start until Tuesday, while Bournemouth does not start until Wednesday.

Oddly, the only one of the top dozen GB women who isn't playing next week or known to be injured is Mel South, who has the most points to defend after reaching the Gifu SFs last year.

The women's week 17 table and all of the women's links on the stats page have been updated with the new official rankings.

There are new singles career highs for Naomi Broady (383), Amanda Carreras (503 - so close!) and Samantha Vickers (882), while three more players remain at career highs and Laura Robson has a new doubles high of 966.

The new week's GB top 25 women's table has been updated with all of this weekend's results and draws and the table and all the other links on the stats page have been updated with the new official rankings for 4 May.

There are new singles career highs for Georgie Stoop (178), Samantha Vickers (881) and Nicola Slater (entering the rankings at 1006, though she will drop off again soon unless she gets another score before one of her current three comes off later this month) and new doubles career highs for Sarah Borwell (90), Anne K (103 - so close to being in the top 100 for both!), Amanda Elliott (251), Jade Curtis (265) and Naomi Cavaday (329), the latter up no less than 333 places this week after winning the doubles event at the Jo'burg 100K+H 'Challenger' event.

Yes, that was the problem, it was impossible to get complete lists outside the all nats top 100. The WTA rankings are finally all working again, so the 11 May rankings have now been included in the GB top 25 women's table at last and on all the stats pages.

There are new singles career highs for Naomi Broady (372), Jade Curtis (383), Tara Moore (507), Samantha Vickers (866, her 12th CH of 2009 so far) and Nicola Slater (1005) and three doubles highs, including Anne who has inched up another place to 102 in her quest to be ranked in the top 100 in both singles and doubles at the same time.

There are still 9 left in, so it's not that bad. Anyway, the women's week 20 table has been up for a few hours and is now completely up to date and all of the women's stats linked to from the stats page have been updated with the new rankings.

There are six new singles career highs to add to the GB successes page - Naomi Broady (361), Jade Curtis (369), Laura Robson (485, still moving up without playing!), Amanda Carrers (breaking into the top 500 at 492, with a lot more to come when her Antaly winning points go on next Monday), Tara Moore (getting ever closer to the top 500 at 504) and Helen Parish, who enters the rankings at 1118. Five new doubles CHs are headed by Wobbly at 323 and Cav at 325.

Week 21 is now up - very little happening away from RG, but week 21 sees the welcome return of Laura Robson to the senior circuit, Tara Wigan is a DA in Portugal and Nicola Slater is a DA in South Carolina.

At the end of RG, there will be a lot of points coming off and quite a few to add from this week, e.g. RG Q points.

The 25 May WTA rankings are out early in time for the early start to RG. (I don't think the new ATP rankings will be out tonight because the Cremona Challenger does not finish until Sunday afternoon)

The new rankings have been used to update the GB Top 25 women's table and all of the GB WTA stats linked to from the BT.net stats page.

Anne is back in the top 50 at her previous career high of 48 and there are new singles career highs for Jade Curtis (368), Amanda Carreras (a 31 place improvement on her old CH to 461) and Tara Moore (502), plus three doubles career highs but all in the 900s.
