And Heather's SF loss is on the aforepictured BBC tennis page ABB. 2nd article after the Murray and Inglot lead.

disbelief

The point being, they never reported the QF win to make the SF, in preference to all those other stories.
They did report the R16 win. But was Coric's hotdog, or Hewitt's self-selection, or Steph Curry's tennis opinions, or a $15K win for a 16yo (which they did not deem interesting enough when Raducanu achieved it earlier in the year), really more important to GB tennis fans than a GB player making a tour level singles SF, only the third such GB women's tour singles SF of the year for any player?

As the BBC, you either have the GB angle in the coverage - as evidenced by the Davis Cup focus, and Draper - or you don't.

I'm sure, yet again, there will be plenty of reasons why, apparently, yes, all those things were far more important, just like there were when Heather was not covered in her Acapulco title win earlier in the year.

I've long given up with the Beeb tennis reporting. I don't even have them book marked any more. They show so much favouritism, and are not even that accurate that I would rather come here for my information. Most of us on this forum know loads more than their writers and presenters about what's going on in British tennis today.

Daily mail headlined heathers QF win yesterday, although I can't stand daily mail generally I find its tennis coverage actually one of the best

PP's CH 40 dates from age 22 in 2008. And she has spent most of the time since in the top 100 ( indeed been top 100 at some point in every year since 2007 ). I suggested certainly consistent, plodding along if you want, not rated if others want. But she's played a long time in pretty high level competition and made a good career for herself. Certainly while a title is novel no particular late blooming rankingswise.

Great week for Parmentier, but while you can only beat what's in front, the highest ranked player she beat en route was McHale who was exactly 100 in this past Monday's rankings.

That said, it wasn't a weak tournament and certainly not her fault that the likes of Sabalenka, Martic, Niculescu and even young Yastremska (who beat PP the week before in Chicago) all fell before they were due to face her.

Her path was - Kudermetova (121), McHale (100), Lepchenko (11), Watson (107) and Pegula (227) - Mind, McHale, Watson and Lepchenko have all been seasoned top 100 players and certainly in Watson's case, we hope she's back there to stay.

It could have been Kudermetova, Yastremska, Sabalenka, Niculescu and Martic .

It seems that since the ''Williams incident'' nobody is allowed to have their say on anything to do with tennis on the BBC site.

It's called multitasking. Saving the world from bad people and keeping a watch on the forum.
