It looks as if there is a lucky loser spot so Emily might yet make it to the MD.

Emily did not get the LL spot, it went to a French lady WR >1000

Her ranking means she can still get useful points at 15k - getting knocked out in R1 or qualies of a 25k doesn't help her. Also - winning is habit forming - good luck to Emily smile

Cf. Emily App.

Izzy Wallace and her partner in fact withdrew here, leaving Emily and hers to play a Latin American alt pair whom they beat easily

Beth and Mirjam Bjorklund, her partner, looked like they were coasting into the final, but then failed to serve out for the match twice in a row, following which they blew at *5-2 lead in the TB to lose that too. So into a MTB. 6-4 6-7(5)

Oh, that was squeaky. This time round Emily+ managed to blow 2 MPs on their serve and 3 MPs in all to go from 9-6 to 9-10, but then won their last two serves and the match on their 4th MP. Into the final they go smile

SF: Arbuthnott/Bjorklund (GBR/SWE) 1102 beat Jani/ Udvardy (HUN/HUN) 727 6-4 6-7(5) 12-10
