Entries Week 20 - 14/05/18

That's a rotten draw for Jo, and I can't see anything other than a quick straight sets exit.

Looks like there are 18 British women playing ITF's this week - 11 on the acceptance list for qualifying and 7 in main draws.

 Doesnt look like he is playing...his name is taken out of Bordeaux and he could have got into any of them on ranking but looks like he isnt playing at all

  I wouldn't be surprised, he's only had a week off including the flight hasn't he?

What's happened to Watson? Looks like she's not in Rome quals. Think she was due to play Madrid quals last week as well but didn't. Injured?

Tara Moore is now in the main draw in Kurume. A very significant chance she will be drawn against one of the British seeds: Broady, Boulter, Robson or Dunne.

Kvitova has won in Madrid, and withdrawn from Rome. Jo now gets Rybarikova in R1.

... against whom she leads the head-to-head by 2-0, but both matches were on grass in Nottingham.

Silly me for forgetting that Madrid win:  I went purely on what came up on the live scoreboard & the Madrid encounter isn't there.  Serves me right for not checking Steve G!    Let's hope that Madrid win is a good omen.

 Shes drawn a WC, hurray, Sadly, no sign of Laura in the draw. Naomi and the two Katies present - None have drawn each other in Ist round.

As of close of play Thursday, we had Naomi, Katy, Em WS, Alice Gillan and Emma Rad all still on course....

As of 8.30 Friday morning, we've now got:

the doyenne of GB tennis, Emily W-S;
the LTA black sheep and plough-your-own-furrow style of player, Naomi B;
the unheralded ringer, Alice G; and
the rising and much touted starlet, Emma Rad.

It's an interesting Friday.....
