I read that Marcus Willis appeared to be in Guadalajara. However his ranking is below the qualifying last direct acceptance. Shouldn't be Marcus, but is.

So unless he has somehow managed a MD WC no singles action here for him.

Marcus should get into doubles with Joe Salisbury perhaps???

Joe Salisbury's in Tunis, playing alongside Jonathan Eysseric, so no.

Yes good for James. Hope much more to come.

Brydan though will drop out of the top 400 next Monday, leaving ( unless James wins the whole shebang this week ) just 6 British men in the top 400, including 2 who haven't so far added a point this year ( well, Andy clearly not since Wimbledon ).

Dropped the first set 6-7.

But got the next one 6-1.

C'mon Dino !

At last, signs of progress from Dino - he qualifies:

FQR:  (PR) James Ward WR 798 defeated Emilio Gómez (ECU) WR 518 by 6-7(4) 6-1 6-4

He could've wrapped it up in straight sets, if he'd hung on to the early break he had in the first set!

Great win for Dino! One of those matches where mostly he seemed to be ahead but then dropped the first set and then couldnt quite convert opportunities in the 3rd set until the last game. Pleased for him as would like to see him get back to close to where he was before getting injured.
Hopefully he can now take this on and make some real progress.

good chances for qualifiers, one Q vs Q slot, another a WC ranked 600 odd, and the worst is the 6th seed Arevalo.

The Q vs Q slot might face the 2nd seed the following round.
