Not at her best by some way, and Angie is looking really strong this year. Interesting to see how she does against Caro.

Rats.
Angie found form.
Still some continued green shoots in the recovery from the second half of last years form from Johanna. Not there yet. I'm more hopeful it will come sooner rather than later than I have been in many months though.

On to the US PM's then.
Hard to see even half of last years points being defended, so things will start to look different after that, and seeding etc runs out.
The silver lining is always there for this year, that anything at all gained after grass season will be counting. She just needs to ensure shes got enough by then to be in MD, and not slip all the way back - which is the peril so often found when a player has such a lop sided season as Jo did last year.

I thought Angie skirted the question regarding Wm Fissette's influence.

Good luck to jo.

I see Ostapenko lost to Buzarnescu, who is a player I'd never heard of before! What's her background, anyone know her at all? Apologies for my ignorance!

Neat trick; ask and the WTA shall provide; this interview new in today: http://www.wtatennis.com/news/insider-qa-firsts-keep-coming-mihaela-buzarnescu

Now, could you please ask a question about when the WTA are going to make their website fit for purpose again, please?

Jo's big serve is normally an easy way to get cheap points, but very few aces or winners off the serve today.
