Two very tight matches, one which went for us and the other against us.

QR1: (Q6) Cameron Norrie WR 112 beat Philipe Peliwo (CAN) WR 187 6-1 6-7(4) 6-4

QR1: Liam Broady WR 169 lost to (Q20) Michael Berrettini (ITA) WR 127 5-7 6-3 7-6(5)

That's going to be hard to take for Liam but highly competitive against a higher ranked and clearly in-form player. The signs are good even if the result didn't quite work out.

QR2: (Q6) Cameron Norrie WR 112 v J-P Smith (AUS) WR 219

Good win for Cam, Peliwo is a decent player, probably under ranked. JP Smith from memory is a bit of a serve bot, hopefully cam should be able to outplay him once he gets his eye in.

Shame for Liam

I watched the first two sets of Cam's match before sleep got the better of me. Wasn't impressed with Peliwo (apart from his serve) and thought Cam should have won more easily. But a number of unforced errors let Peliwo back into the match, and it was obviously more even after that. Cam's game looks in good shape though, and if he can cut down on the errors he will make life much easier.

Can you provide a link for the stream? I couldn't find anywhere yesterday. I see he is on show court 3 tonight, so hoping it's more easily available.

Good start by Cam - really gutted for Liam as he was so close.

Streaming is available on the ausopen website and worked well for me last night

Yes, the ausopen has good coverage, probably of all courts. When I first posted just before the start of play yesterday no coverage was showing.

Welcome to the board TCU Frog.  Our other British TCU Frog is having a tough day in Long Beach Futures today, having lost the 1st set 6-1 in the FQR.  Who knows ? Maybe YOU ARE that other British TCU Frog wink

TCU (Texas Christian University) is the University where Cam studied in the USA.  The nickname for their University Tennis Team (and other sports teams) is "The Horned Frogs".  Alistair Gray is our current TCU Frog.  #GoFrogs

You can spot both Cam and Ali in the picture on this home page.
