Nice to see Emma Raducanu back - not played ITFs since Junior Wimbledon...

Good to see her back.

Had noted she was down for the three Indian tournaments to start the year.

No news on Holly Fischer?

I note that Emma R is not playing the doubles, which is a little strange for someone who's staying on to next week anyway.

Given that it's in India where playing conditions might not be pleasant - probably wise to give the doubles a miss smile

Why do you say that? The weather in Chandigargh is just beautiful - 20 degrees and hazy sunshine all week - couldn't be better.

I suspect they are referring to humidity and the pollution?

Humidity is only 50% all week - that's pretty nice.
Pollution is definitely the old problem but playing doubles would hardly increase your exposure much.

Either way, Emma is still coasting:

Next up for Emma is the Indian second seed, who has enjoyed a fair amount of success in home tournaments.

Glad to hear it. Often in India the temp is 40+ and the humidity higher. Glad they've found a pleasant place to play smile

Emma through 6-1 6-3

Next opponent looks like a potential danger.

Emma's semi-final opponent reached the quarter-finals of the Eddie Herr G1. Prior to that her record wasn't exceptional, but may have suddenly stepped up a level

I'm not too concerned about Emma's next opponent. Yes, she made the quarterfinals of Eddie Herr, but she didn't beat anyone of Emma's calibre.
