What does Cam need this week to get Aussie Open main draw?

Live rankings show him at 111 today on 527 points. Another win would be 541 points and 109, two wins would be 560 and 102. So very close, but there are six others close to him and in a similar position.

He has 15 points due off after next week so I don't reckon semis will be enough. A final and he'll have a chance after withdrawals, win the tournament he should end the year top 100 and be fine.

I dipped in and out of this match as I prepped supper. When Cam was 0-40 down at the start of the first set, I thought he was going to have his work cut out. But Cam played excellent tennis to salvage his serve to make ir 2-2. When I looked again, he was 6-2, 2-0 ahead. The rest of the match didn't take long. I think things will be tougher tmrw, but it was a good performance from Cam.

Tennys only managed 11 points returning the Smyczek serve, so that might be the key to the outcome.

Good end to the season for Cam, just two more matches and he can go on holiday! Go Cam in the semi!

Cam managed to get into US Open Qualifying in the last counting week with his run ( and ultimately title ) at Binghamton. Now after a few weeks off from his relentless points gathering, and time moving on, he goes on this run. The guy is clearly a drama queen

Seriously, from just getting into US Open Qualifying how really well he has continued to now be in this position.

Agree with wolf ( though it's 17 points to come off next week ) :

SF now: 541 - 17 = 524 points, almost certainly will not yet be enough for Aussie Open MD.
Reach the final: 560 - 17 = 543, possibly ... ( and there are a few walking wounded around just in the top players )
Win the title: 592 - 17 = 575, who would you like in R1, Cam ?

Although the Aussie Open MD cut-off is the 04/12 rankings, this is last week of US Challengers. The final challengers of the year are in assorted other parts of the world next week.

It would appear from live rankings info that if Joe & Ruan win this SF Joe will be top 100 on Monday. It would be very good timing in the short term for making that landmark as he has 90 points coming off next week from his 2016 Columbus Challenger title sucess with David O'Hare.

Mark my word, this time next year, Cam will be British number 2 and top 30.  He needs to go gluten free though.
