Good start.
Harriet next plays a 15 year old qualifier, Naomi Cheong (USA), who was top 200 juniors aged 14, and won a grade 4 aged 12; but has been trying $25K+ ITF's for most of this year, to unsurprisingly little effect.

Harriet came out worse in the battle of the breaks 4-3 in the first set, but recovered to 3 breaks to one in the second
5-7 6-3 *0-0

Pity.

With Harriet now having no points to defend until March hopefully she can get back into the top 300 and stay there. It's been proving a bit of a barrier to really break and leave behind with only Katie Boulter from a potentially good young group really pushing on as many would hope. Gabi seemed to me the next most likely but has gone missing of late in a period where for obvious reasons she had nothing to defend from last year.
