Week 32 - WTA Premier 5 ($2.3M) - Toronto, Canada Hard

Well... that was... Hev-like!
I'm not convinced that this tactic of starting every tournament with a fraught 2½ hour attritional slug fest is especially productive. I dunno, perhaps try a routine win, just for variety?

Still well done on getting through it

I am glad that I went to the pub rather than following the scores !
Hopefully that win will settle her nerves a bit, and the next match wil be easier.

5-3* in the tiebreak when I looked in again, now back to *5-5 ... someone is about to get a set point/match point ... and unfortunately, it's the German

Set point saved, more mini-breaks than holds at the moment ... another one brings up match point for Hev

Yet another mini-break saves the match point *7-7

... and yet another one brings up a second set point for Maria 7-8*

... another mini-break for Hev saves that one 8-8*

... double fault from Maria and it's match point again! *9-8

Phew! That tiebreak made for nervous watching and that was just on live scores! Goodness what it would have been like to watch live. Well done Heather!

Jo is playing doubles with Svitolina, and woud play Hingis+ in R2; Melichar has entered with a Kichenok, not Anna.
