She quickly went 0-40 down and ended up getting broken back then rebroke to take the set

Complete flip of yesterday! Lost her last 5 service games.

63 46 60

Not surprised at all by the result, she really was unfortunate with the draw in this field - Erin was ranked several hundred spots higher until a week or so ago, and should breeze through to the main draw.

Bigger issue is her 12 Brazil points drop on Monday so she'll be almost out the top 600 again.

Third seeds in doubles with Lykina. Play a pair who if today's rankings were used would have been seeded 4.

No other British interest.

First round draws look ok for Katie and Laura - but Katie's opponent has been much higher previously. Katy D has the toughest match.

R!: ROBSON, Laura (GBR) 3 178 vs DI LORENZO, Francesca (USA) 345

Di Lorenzo didn't play between January and June this year, and her form has been excellent since her return, so with a JCH of 11, and the fact she's still young and improving, maybe alot tougher than it first looks, could be a tight one. Kiick has a higher CH, but is more exposed and in not such good form, so maybe an easier draw. Hozumi looks to be in very good form at the moment too.

The betting odds have Laura's match as 50/50 which I was very surprised by, but perhaps understandable if di Lorenzo is in good form and under ranked from missing several months.

Maybe that's the way to go with Laura against quite a range of opponents.

Some may think that shows up she wins, doesn't she loses, and it may be a 50/50 call.

Going to miss most of it - unless Laura keeps serving like she is right now. 21 serves for two games hmm
