Another win should give her a GB top 15 place - good on her after a terrible end to 2016 smile

Had 2 match points at 5-2 40-15* but Geukens won the next four points.

*5-3

Em now facing break points

Saved. Another match point. Saved. And another.

Yes!!

Em wins 6-2 6-3

Another really good win. She's surprising me so much!

Another win it is, taking her to 33 points on Monday week, which should be enough for GB top 15 and GB top Emily on tiebreak. Back into the top 650.

But might as well keep adding ...

Em and Kyra staged a mini-fightback in the first set but lost it 7-6(1).

Then saved 3 match points to recover from *1-5 to *5-5 in the second, only to miss two game points, be broken, and go out 7-6(1) 7-5

So quite a lot of effort for nothing in the end. Frustrating not to keep the momentum going as they had turned it round - never mind!

Good to see Em. Backing up last week and a good shot in the SF too.

Also the number of wins by british girls is totally shocking. Very poor.
