L32: Brydan Klein WR 177 v (5) Yuichi Sugita (JPN) WR 127 (CH 116 in 2012)

H2H 1-0 but it was 11 years ago (!) - Brydan won 5 & 6 in juniors in Sarawak in 2004.

Brydan's serve certainly kept him in it today, 22 aces is pretty impressive. Shame he couldn't come through but as you say, Sugita is in good form at the moment, and playing well

Dead pleased for Brydan (and Matt). Tough draw in the singles this week but I imagine taking the doubles title makes that loss much easier to swallow. A decent little paycheck, and a nice 80 points that takes Brydan up to around 184-185 in the doubles rankings

That is a bit of a turnaround, Matty Reid was not exactly Brydan's best pal not so long ago. Good result.

To be fair I have heard very little negativity around Brydan for 18 months or so, may have missed something but time is a great healer and after a win I am sure they will be exchanging Christmas cards. Let's hope for more of the same in 16.
