Week 13 - Challenger ($100,000 + H) Le Gosier, Guadeloupe (Hard)

L32: Kyle Edmund WR 144 v (WC) Fabrice Martin (FRA) WR 324 (CH 228 July 2012)

If Kyle gets through that one, his likely seeded opponent in R2 would be Kenny de Schepper.

Decent draw.

Very good draw especially as Kenny de Shepper has not been in good form of late.

Was it De Schepper he beat at on grass a couple of years back?

Yes. 6-4 6-4 at Eastbourne in 2013.

Yes. If you want to draw two of the weakest 'top' lot of Frenchmen, then Martin and de Schepper would probably be right up there as top choice.

Both really tall. Fabrice has hardly won a thing this year. Allez, Kyle.

Looks like quite a nice place to play some tennis ! And a nice draw as well.

A bit warm, but otherwise lovely. One of the things that always fascinates me about the Caribbean islands is how little their temperature changes: if you look on the BBC weather site at this week's forecast, you'll see that Guadeloupe is at 29 all week, and the neighbouring island (Dominica) at 27. Next week there's one day where (the horror!) the Guadeloupe high dips to 28 and the Dominica high to 26. But that's the sum variation. And broadly speaking, I think the total variation over the course of the year (for highs, not lows) is about 3 or 4 degrees Celsius.

Kyle on Court 1 at 7pm UK time. Again, should be streamed.

So we may well be trying to watch Kyle and Andy at the same time!

Can somebody please double check my timings. Given the confusion I caused over Liam's start time, I don't want to make the same mistake here. It seems as though the ATP have got me in the wrong timezone, which has caused my problems.

I am now extremely confused as I have checked and Le Gosier appear to be 5 hours behind the UK. The ATP show Kyle's match starting at 15:00 local time and 19:00 UK time. However, if the UK is 5 hours ahead then that would surely be 20:00 UK time. This would mean Kyle would be on an hour later than expected rather than Liam who was on an hour earlier!

To summarise I have no idea what time he is on and will try and hover around a stream at 19:00 UK time just in case!

That would sort of make some sense, I think. If Le Gosier is 5 hours behind the UK it should be 1 hour behind me in Brazil as I am definitely 4 hours behind the UK. However, the ATP site has Le Gosier and me in the same time zone, which probably explains why I got Liam's match time wrong by 1 hour.

Like you, I am confused and will rely on others to sort out this mess.

From all the google info I have looked at, Guadeloupe's standard time is GMT - 4 hours and they have no summer time adjustment.

So now that they we are on BST they are 5 hours behind us and 'current time' indicators confirm this.
