Apparently not. Judging from a number of tweets that Steven is currently retweeting, Mauresmo is staying but both Dani Valverdu and Jez Green have been given the push.

Story as reported on the Beeb site:

Coaching changes for Murray

Dani Vallverdu and Amelie Mauresmo

"Andy Murray has decided to make some changes to his team for 2015.

"Amelie Mauresmo remains as head coach, but her assistant Dani Vallverdu (pictured above left) - who has been with Murray for the past five years - and fitness trainer Jez Green will no longer travel with him.

"Murray said in a statement: 'We sat down at the end of the season and decided that a change would be best for all of us.

"My off season training and Australian Open preparations have already begun and I am very excited for the new year.

"I thank Jez and Dani for all their hard work over the years and wish them the best for the future."

Interesting, very interesting.

Clearly no idea really about any of the whys and wherefores, but I do think that both Dani and Jez have a heck of a lot to be thanked for. I recall that Lendl spoke very well of Dani.

I trust that Amelie is not going to be Andy's main hitting partner !

I can't help feel that this is a truly terrible decision.

I have a nasty feeling that you are right. I hope not.

The Telegraph article suggests tensions within the camp:-

5 years is a long time, sometimes its good to freshen it up.

Hmm, engagement, coaches changing, that's a lot of stuff going on. Unexpected but hope it's all to the good.

Maybe a fresh start is needed to give him a sense of excitement and commitment. I see Matt Little (the other fitness coach) is staying on.

I want to believe that but given everything else he has said about his coaching set up this year I just can't.

At the moment I jut don't see Andy competing for the big prizes ever again. An assortment of smaller events and maybe the odd Masters Series if things go well but no more than that. There is just too much wrong with his game at the moment and I think he is in denial about how much has to change and how much work it will take.

I would suggest that the linked article about his engagement to Kim Sears ( Congrats emoticon (Word Emoticons) ), about which I knew sod all until I clicked on it, reveals more about the events of today than the first article.

My worry too. I don't think Mauresmo is the one to 'fix' his game and I fear he's still looking to turn his game back into a pushing, varied game.

...i.e. as distinct to the "Route One" method recommended by Lendl and followed successfully by Andy.

The variety to be able to come up with more finesse than most and more defensive play ( at times ! ) can add that bit extra but I simply can't see it being the basis of any meaningful success.

He's still just 27, he could get back to where he was, playing the way he was ( and working how he was ! ). His choice...

Reading the Telegraph ( engagement ) article further, I see that Andy has also spoken about his feeling that at ( the grand old age of ) 27, he cannot keep punishing his body in the same way. If the back is essentially sorted I don't quite see why not. That fitness in addition to the "Lendl" style was vital. I wonder if Jez Green disagreed about that.

Anyway, I see Barry Cowans says " I think it's a positive move for all concerned". We'll see.

He may enjoy his tennis. But I think it's a pity that he seems to be giving up on more Slams before Rafa and before Fed !

I don't think the back problem is sorted. I have noticed him frequently bending down and fiddling with his shoelaces - a common way of dealing with back problems, I know, I do it myself.
