RE: Andy's schedule for 2015

Didn't know where to put this/didn't know if this has been covered but if it's a "yes" vote north of the border, will this site still follow Scottish players?

It bloody better ! Then again it bloody better not be YES ( just a personal addition for a multitude of reasons, largely strangely not to do with tennis ).

Whatever, we wouldn't actually separate the day after a YES ( arrrghhh ! ) win.

I couldn't see why not. It'd be strange if a vote for independence lessened our interest and enthusiasm towards tennis players from Scotland or England, depending on your own national identity. But then I've always been a supporter of Irish tennis along with British so others may not feel the same.

The current odds have drifted to 3.4/1 from 2.2/1 earlier today, so hopefully we are safe from this potential disaster ( everything crossed ).

There is a rumour going around that if the YES vote wins, Andy will apply for English citizenship. Mind you, I started the rumour myself without having any basis whatsoever for doing so other that I like to "stir the pot" from time to time biggrin

All he needs to do is marry Kim and it'll happen pronto, no problemo.

Bob, the Welsh and Northern Irish might take issue if it was proposed to call what remained of the UK after Scotland left err England.

I guess many sportspeople might be heading the queue of those asking for "UK" citizenship.

I wonder if there will be some sort of automatic dual citizenship ( or right to dual citizenship if applied for ) for Scots for at least some period.

Hey, probably just one of a million and one things things that still noone really knows the answer to ( apologies if this is one thing that does have an answer ).

3.4 / 1 still strikes me as very worryingly short odds !!!

( the general momentum had been with the yes camp ever since the second TV debate, yep a TV debate !!? )

Well, it wouldn't immediately but it would ultimately. And independence would be the reason, and (I'd say) a logical one.

i.e. this site doesn't follow Indian tennis or US tennis but (assuming it'd been around) it would have done before the Independence of both countries. Same applies obviously to various other countries.

Have to say that India and US are worlds apart from Scottish independence. Scotland isn't an ancillary part of an Empire but a union with much closer bonds.

I have no doubt that Scottish tennis could well go the route of Irish tennis in British interest but it certainly wouldn't strike me as logical.

Personally, I think I would continue to folllow those current Scottish players whom I already support, but over time, I would be less likely to follow new players that came on the scene.

Andy is Scottish through and through he never needed the lta but they need him. I am not caring if Scotland becomes independent but I believe Andy would play for Scotland

IF it does happen I'm sure he would - provided they sort out all the hundreds of problems before he retires!

Two days to go and since the weekend the odds generally available have been pretty much settled at about :

1/4 NO
3/1 YES

A little bit comforting, but I'd be feeling a heck of a lot more comfortable with YES 100/1.
