RE: Junior rankings

Been quite quiet in recent weeks in terms of rankings changes

Rhett is at 80
Max Stewart 422
Finn Bass 546

Katie climbs another place to 22 with the likes of Bencic, Konjuh, Black, Kasatkina and Flink not playing much or at all on the junior circuit, there is plenty of room to jump after junior Wimbledon.

Katie has said, however, that she's giving up junior tennis after junior Wimbledon.

She might change her mind if the rankings argument suddenly makes it look worthwhile but, in theory, she's done.

To be fair, she has very little to defend after Wimbledon anyway, so her ranking won't change much until the end of the year.

Max Stewart up to 349, Finn Bass 506

No changes of note for the girls, although Katie climbs another place to 21. Is she playing French juniors?

Yes. Pretty sure Katie B. is in the French Juniors.

The acceptance list is out for the Wimbledon Juniors (I guess this should get a separate thread - definitely will at some point of course, but I didn't know if it was worth it yet).

www.itftennis.com/juniors/tournaments/tournament/info.aspx

Anyway, it reiterates various people's point about the boys as we;ve only got one boy who's actually even made the qualifiers (pre-wildcards etc.)

Only Katie in the girls. But at least there are also several in the Qs.

Jonathon Gray is the only positive mover of note on the boys - climbing to 431

There are a few small movers on the girls side

Gabi Taylor moves back into the top 100 at 93
Emily Smith climbs to 139
Jodie Burrage up to 208
Nastya Mikheeva up to 218
Holly Hutchinson up to 298

Both Katie and Izzy have covered their lowest singles scorer with their first round win in Paris, so any further wins should mean a rankings increase.

Izzy Wallace's run at the French climbs her up to 52

Bencic run at the top is over, but that is because she is flying up the main tour(beat Vekic at Brmingham today) having stopped playing juniors. Jorovic is now no.1

Alex's doubles win has moved him up to 94 in the latest rankings, Jonathon Gray is the other notable mover climbing to 407

Gergia's doubles run moves her up to 488

Fairly quite week, but expect some big changes in next few weeks with Roehampton and Wimbledon having plenty of GB interest.

Just a note here about Jazzi Plews, who I enquired about whilst I was away, and not good news. She is recovering from double wrist surgery, so I just wish her all the best, during a time which must be very difficult for her.

Hi Phil, is she hoping to continue a professional career after she's recovered?
