Harry struck the ball well

But I did not agree with his tactics he stood on the baseline alot and played far too defensively . He needs to pair with a experienced player /leader like josh who could dictate superior tactics but  still young and definitely improving /benefiting under. JD's guidence

Despite the odd close set, Brits were 0/7 against non-Brits today, though only one of the 7 was beaten by a lower-ranked opponent and most of us probably only expected 2 of the 7 to get through.

The biggest upset of the day, though, was a first top 1000 scalp for Joshua Paris.

Joshua Paris - defeated our team mate Lewis burton.

Marcus and I felt that he was one to watch for the future definitely talented . Great serve with good variation , passionate and very fired up Potential to progress well I hope the Lta have him in their sights or that he as good funding

I had a sneaking suspicion that josh might spring an upset on Lewis - I saw him play recently and he was very impressive and RJA thinks very highly of him (RJA ? Calling RJA ?).

I don't know about his Lta status but Martin Weston was tweeting about him from Spain last week (although I wasn't sure that he was part of Martin's main group but maybe there under his own steam as some of the others were). Josh plays for a club in North London and may also be, from what I've read, thinking of further studies so he's one with decisions to make too.

Certainly a very strong teenage prospect . J malik another good youngster did well again to get to the tie break against a much higher ranked swiss player but unfolded in the 2nd like he did v Dan cox at Roehampton but he has an excellent coach and I think he also has considerable potential To climb the rankings in 2014

Ahh, Graeme Dyce. Seem to remember him being a pretty handy Junior. 24 now though and currently unranked.

Spoke to his coach today Euan Mcginn of Stirling UNi he said Graeme is now doing a masters and focusing on his academia after he suffered pro career ending injuries

Brilliant, Wolf. Great read. Are you going tomorrow ? And you too A1 ?
Look forward to hearing more . . .

(NB Keelan had major back surgery last year and was out for a good part of a year so it's nice that he's playing well again. He certainly does come to the net a lot - it's fun to watch!)

He fits the top 400 acid test in terms of the fact that he has achieved a ranking points prior  to his 18th birthday . I would stick my neck out and say has most potential of any GB teenager seen playing futures this year  with the exception of Kyle Edmund .

Agreed with wolf's observation of George Morgan & harry Meehan . GM demonstrated the ability of a much higher ranked player , his doubles performance was the best I had seen at a GB futures this year with the exception of Marcus .

Harry has a monster serve let's hope that Josh can add another weapon a  josh Goodall forehand would be nice . Has time on his side not a natural with his ground strokes but has the potential with time to develop .

Josh Paris was the most impressive GB teenager seen for a while with the passion and maturity to match - the one player that saw today that has top 5 GB & top 300 potential . He also appears to be well funded with experience at the soto academy
