Are you close to Sheffield ? Week 1 of the GB indoor satellite is being held there from 30th Jan until 6th Feb. From 6th - 12th March GB F3 is in Sunderland, 13th-19th March - GB F4 in Manchester, That's all they have so far

I`m not too far away from Sheffield but my course starts in Jan/Feb (v end of jan into the start of feb ) so I guess I`ll be snowed under with that for a good while. Do they have any at Nottingham? That`s about the closest to me.

Could you get to Sunderland or Manchester ? There are futures held there in March [you might meet up with Mad at one of them aswell].

I'll have a look and see if there are any in Nottingham. Shame about having so much coursework next summer [I'm likely to be cooped up in some dusty exam hall ] but if there are any events in Nottingham you might meet up with Mad.

I suppose with Social Studies [is that what you're doing ?], you'll have quite a bit of essay writing.

Ooh yes, didn`t think of that.

I know, it sucks. I got some preparatory work through the post and it`s all note-taking and lots of assignments and I was like, "uh oh, what have I got myself in for!". It looks a good course though and as I`ve done it through the OU it`s different to normal uni - each course runs Jan/Feb- Oct, exams are in Oct and I get Oct- Jan off. I guess you pack all the work into the course time! Good luck with your exams in summer by the way.

David, the "recent posts" new option is great. It makes finding the posts you haven't read yet a doddle, miles better than having to trawl through the headings..

What's a zeitgeist, stagger ?

I'm pleased you like the new additions, Mad. Don't forget to check out the calendar aswell. I don't think other members are able to update this but if you think there's anything which needs updating on it, let me know.

For Sally, I've looked up events in Nottingham in 2006. They haven't released the challengers, futures and satellites list from March onwards but there aren't any events in Nottingham before then. However, there is supposed to be a hard-court challenger there in late April, ATP Nottingham on grass in June and the 2nd Nottingham Challenger on grass in early July.

Ideas for tennis related names for the lower amounts of posts:

0-5: Newbie, 5-20: Improver, 20-50: Social player, 50-100: Junior player, 100-250: Lower Club player, 250-400: Intermediate Club player, 400-550: Strong club player, 550-800: Club Coach, then so on.

What do you think ?

Its a fad or a trend. In all other forums, people have pseudonyms (like me) but here there are (gasp) REAL names. I like it. well done.
Lack of acronyms, no fake names, no flaming....whats the virtual world coming too???
respect.
