Has Dan been given a main draw place for Nottingham? According to this article yes but can't find anything on their website?

Good find, and welcome to the forum! Yes, it would certainly seem to indicate he has a MD WC, and with 5 matches won and his ranking already having advanced to 530 so far this week, it makes sense.

Beeb reporting is not known to be accurate when it comes to tennis, so I'll take this with a pinch of salt until I hear from a more reliable source. I think it's more likely that he's got an SE.

The LTA @BritishTennis) have also confirmed in a tweet that Dan is in the main draw - although they don't say if it's a WC or SE.

Great. I was at his match today giving my support. But nothing on the lta website. I do hope so. He deserves one and deserves a second chance!

It would be his 21st chance but that's by the by, hopefully he will make the most of it. About the right standard of tennis for Dan he has spent plenty of time practicing up in Nottingham and another great opportunity for fans who live north of Watford gap to see him play.

If he wins tomorrow he would be UK No 8 i believe. Tomorrow will be a difficult one though.

But still no clue whether he's going to get Wimby WC of some description, so whether he can play Queens or Ilkley - and boy does he need the points.

He should be 440 now. Live rankings hasn't updated yet. I doubt he will get a WC for Wimbledon. Purely a political reason. If it was based on is tennis he would. Hopefully he will get a WC for the qualifier.

For what its worth I think he should get one - he is pulling in good crowds when on the outside courts by looks of the live streams over the last few weeks and he is playing a good standard of tennis.

All he can do is keep winning and make their decision for them. If he were to win the tournament here, it would put a lot of pressure on the powers that be.

I think now plenty ( sufficient ) pressure should be there.

I hereby move from certainly a Wimbledon WC, MD or Q, to it should be a MD one. His tennis has done the talking.

So that'll swing it

Not sure this is the relevant place to put this but as we have compared the LTA's apparent reluctance to give Dan a WC to their decision to give Sharapova a WC to Birmingham last year, this latest tweet from Stuart Fraser rather kicks further dirt in the LTA's face.

Maria Sharapova pulls out of Birmingham due to a need for rest ahead of Wimbledon. She agreed a two-year commitment with LTA last year in return for a wild card but never appeared in the end.

If they gave Dan a WC, what would be the chances of him not turning up.

And if Dan had a WC for Birmingham, I reckon we would all be the better for it!

Maybe Maria should stick to the acting, she was decent in Billions the other day, and she has been good at acting innocent in her press conferences last 2 years..
